WOTOFO Profile RDA with MrJustRight1

A massive thanks to WOTOFO for sending out the ProFile for me to cast my beady eyes over. The ProFile is a collaboration with Joel Robinson AKA MrJustRight1 (Do Not google Mr Just Right!! just dont do it!  :fp2: ) but if you want to know more about him, he has been consulted for many projects in the vape industry, and he’s also a vape advocate, and if you watch his video over on his channel (link at the bottom) he seems like a pretty nice fella too.

Initial Thoughts on the ProFile RDA

Wotofo always seem to pack out their boxes with plenty of extra’s. Little tools. Spare o-rings, coils, mesh, and cotton that looks like half a shoe lace! I love the way they do this, getting extra’s makes the whole unpacking experience so exciting!
Anyhow, the Profile RDA… I have to say I really love the look of this, the machining and finish is excellent. I have the blue one and the colour is lovely, along with a resin type matching 810 low profile mouth piece (there is a slightly higher one in the box if the resin one is a little too close to the cap for you) the only thing I’m not so keen on is the logo, its the word ‘ProFile’ immersed in clouds! It’s fun looking I guess, but it could have been a bit more more on the classy side.

The ProFile comes with the BF pin pre installed, so if you don’t want to squonk with this RDA you will need to swap it out for the standard pin that will be in the box. The BF pin protrudes nicely below the threads, so all safe on that score

Under the base you have MrJustRight1’s logo, the WOTOFO logo, and of course the ProFile logo.

Top Cap & Airflow

The Top is a real solid piece of engineering, and splits into two sections, the actual top cap itself, and the barrel. The top cap rotates to close down the airflow. There are 19 holes, in rows of 6, 7 and 6 on either side, and these can be closed down 3 at a time column wise, or if you’re not keen on having air flow directed more to one side of the coil, then there is a separate section of the top cap that will just close down the top 6 holes. So you have the best of both worlds there.

Once the O-ring for the top gets a little juice on it, the top cap turns smoothly and holds in place rather nicely. And the O-ring on the base makes the barrel fit nice and tight, so you can pick up your mod by the RDA with no fear of the barrel sliding off and your mod ending up on the floor.

The barrel and base do have notches that line up and lock into place to make sure that those air flow holes are exactly where they are supposed to be… directed at the coil!

The Profile Base & Fitting a Coil.

So the base in my humble opinion is fantastic! It has 2 clamps, one on each side of the deck. Each clamp uses one Phillips/flat screw head (your choice which screwdriver you prefer) these screws are not too small and fiddly, so if you do happen to unscrew it fully and it falls onto the floor, you shouldn’t be searching for hours to find it!

In between these two clamps you have a ceramic spring loaded block, with a central hole for the liquid to come up through. This spring loaded block, will push the cotton against the mesh! This is the best idea ever! I’ve only had one Mesh RDA and I found that as the cotton got old and flat it dropped away from the mesh and I got the worst burnt and dry its ever! Totally put me off mesh RDA’s!

So  fit the mesh, just unscrew each clamp, and get your little piece of mesh (WOTOFO sell these pre-made and they fit perfectly, so if you don’t fancy cutting your own, pop over to  Wotofo and order some of these Now you can either fit one side, and curl the mesh over and then fit the other side, or you can curl the mesh over the little coily tool that WOTOFO provide in the box and then just drop each side into a clamp and tighten the screws down. This is soooo easy to do! I would also imagine that fitting a standard coil will be just as easy

Next you need to wick the mesh. You need massive amounts of cotton to wick the ProFile, so once you’ve used the one that comes in the box,  WOTOFO have the Agleted organic cotton on the site, do check it out at $4 for 10 pieces, it’s really not worth struggling to try and make your own to the perfect size  :dunno:

When pulling the cotton through, don’t be tempted to remove some of the cotton if you think its too thick and there’s too much, there isn’t too much, there’s actually the perfect amount! (if you’re struggling, don’t forget that the ceramic block is spring loaded and will push down as you pull that cotton through) You then need to brush the ends out, and then trim it. Best way to cut the cotton is at an angle, with the bottom being left longer than the top, or you can try the pancake method. For more info on coiling & wicking the ProFile RDA, check out  WOTOFOs blog.

Next saturate that cotton with liquid, keep squonking from underneath (you will see the liquid rising through the mesh) and also squeeze a load on to the cotton from above too, it does take loads to get that wick fully saturated first of all.

How does the WOTOFO ProFile Vape

Oh… My…. God!! This ProFile RDA is amazing! No other words for it. As I mentioned before, after my first try with a mesh RDA I boxed it back up and vowed never to use another. I’m so glad that WOTOFO sent me this! That ceramic spring loaded  block really does its job of keeping the cotton pushed against the mesh, I haven’t had one burnt hit from this. If you forget to squonk or drip, you will start to get a dry taste, so make sure as soon as that happens you just re-saturate that cotton.

The vapour is huge, the flavour is so in your face, that you really can taste individual layers. The airflow, for  38 holes is actually pretty quiet, and extremely smooth. You would expect the vape to feel quite hot with a 0.18ohm mesh being vaped at 65w, but it isn’t, it’s just perfectly warm. Of course if you adjust the power up or down, the warmth will alter accordingly. Maybe its the mesh coil, or the fact that the vape isn’t hot, the top cap doesn’t get hot either, meaning that I can use the beautiful blue resin low profile mouth piece without roasting my lips!  :ting:

One thing I have found if you’re squonking, the liquid feeds up right under the coil so you will need to squeeze and hold the bottle, while you wait for the liquid to work its way through that mass of cotton. Until you get used to the ProFile RDA, remove the top section of the cap and just watch the liquid rise through the mesh.

One final thing to mention, no leaks from the air flow holes, even when I’ve squonked my heart out… I’ve still not managed to get the liquid up high enough to leak from those holes.

Final Thoughts on the WOTOFO Profile

I just love it! Its fantastic quality, super thick SS parts, and it looks fantastic. Amazingly easy to build on, I haven’t used the ProFile with a standard coil, I don’t want to! I don’t need to… This RDA will always be used with mesh

It is worth spending a little extra cash on WOTOFO’s own mesh and cotton, if you’re using your own then remember you have to get the cotton just right and tightly packed in, and to be honest it will probably work out cheaper and leave you with less waste ( and less failed attempts) if you just purchase the proper stuff from WOTOFO

If you love great flavour, and you like blowing clouds, this will be perfect for you. If you’re new to RDA’s and looking for your first one, try this, it really doesn’t get much easier than this build deck! There may be a bit of a learning curve, you just need to remember the cotton always has to be touching the mesh, and to be honest I haven’t had to adjust mine or re-fluff it out, it’s holding the position really well.

Will the ProFile RDA be retired to the shelf? – Simply put – Probably never!

Ceekays Shack Score

I really can’t find one negative about this RDA, it seems that WOTOFO and MrJustRight1, certainly did get it ‘Just Right’, its pure genius!! The WOTOFO ProFile RDA scores a fantastic 5/5

You can pick up a WOTOFO ProFile here for $32.99 and in my humble opinion, well worth every penny!
